Sunday Nov 20th – TDOR – Transgender Day of Remembrance Interfaith Service
The Transgender Day of Remembrance occurs annually on November 20, and is a day to memorialize those who have been killed over the previous year as a result of transphobia, or the hatred or fear of transgender and gender non-conforming people. This event also serves to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the trans* communities, especially those who exist on the margins. On average, there is one such murder in this country every month. Most of these murders go unsolved.
This year the 8th Annual Northern Virginia Interfaith
Trans* Day of Remembrance Service will be held:

2709 Hunter Mill Road Oakton, VA

Feb 9, 2016 – Equality Virginia’s Day of Action
Equality Virginia’s Day of Action invites Virginians to join more than 200 members and activists from across the state to lobby legislators on bills important to the LGBT community. After morning meetings with legislators, participants have the opportunity to attend workshops hosted by some of the area’s leading advocates. In addition, this informative day allows LGBT and allied Virginians to learn about the 2016 Equality Virginia Legislative Priorities and feel inspired to stand up for equality in their own communities.
This year, Equality Virginia’s Day of Action will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 from 8:30am to 5:00pm at the Library of Virginia, 800 E. Broad St. Richmond, VA 23219. EV’s Day of Action will be followed by the Legislative Reception from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
