Jan 22 – TGEA Presentation at Little River United Church of Christ

TGEA Executive Director Rev. Emma Chattin will be the guest preacher at the 10 AM worship service of the Little River United Church of Christ. Her Reflection, entitled “Diversity, By God! (Inclusivity is Up to Us)” will be followed by a TGEA educational presentation led by Roxanne Edwards and Chaiya Mohanty Ortiz. Join us at 8410 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA, at 10 AM. Rev Emma’s sermon is available via the LRUCC website at http://www.lrucc.org/images/stories/sermons/2017/Sermon20170122.mp3

Sat Jan 21 – The Women’s March on Washington

The March For Women is a national call to protest the policy and
intent of the new administration against women’s rights. The details
will be announced closer to the Saturday event.

Plan to gather at a central location (to be determined) to March under
the TGEA banner. Invite any people to join with us as allies.

We do not know what the weather will be, so be prepared for the cold
or rain/snow. We might choose a color to wear, but that can be a
problem over heavy winter coats.

This is short notice and needs flexible thinking. The main thing is
being there in numbers as large as we can muster.

Sunday Nov 20th – TDOR – Transgender Day of Remembrance Interfaith Service

The Transgender Day of Remembrance occurs annually on November 20, and is a day to memorialize those who have been killed over the previous year as a result of transphobia, or the hatred or fear of transgender and gender non-conforming people. This event also serves to bring attention to the continued violence endured by the trans* communities, especially those who exist on the margins. On average, there is one such murder in this country every month. Most of these murders go unsolved.

This year the 8th Annual Northern Virginia Interfaith
Trans* Day of Remembrance Service will be held:
Sunday, November 20, 7:00 PM
at The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax
2709 Hunter Mill Road Oakton, VA
